Here’s our basic outline for how we sell (or try to sell) my book.

We give away a few….we try not to give away more than a dozen.

I visit every local book store and introduce myself, give them a sell sheet and always offer to sign a few if they buy or order any.

Lynn and I will travel to the hot spots around here (for lesbians) spend the day visiting stores and introducing myself….sometimes a store will say they’ll sell books for me.

We call and try and set up book signings at the lesbian dances in the area…in the summer we extend the area to include the beach areas and try to set up more at a dance or at one of the gay clubs.  Summer’s coming!!

Lynn K calls several magazines and talks to the book editors or book reviewer.  When she talks to them they usually want to get a book and say they will read it….then she has a personal contact with a name.

We print off 100’s of sell sheets….we then make a list of book stores in several surrounding states and mail a cover letter and sell sheet to them…..than we cross our fingers and see if anyone buys.

We use the computer and check every lesbian org. and send them info on my book…sometimes someone is interested and asks me to talk to the group or come by….summer’s coming!!!!

We tell all our friends and tell them to tell their friends…..we don’t fade away and keep pushing.

Lynn K always tells someone no matter where we are, and a conversation always starts and sure enough someone wants the title or a book…..

We carry business cards always…..and hand them out with info about the book on the back.

You know that old saying….you gotta spend money to make money….we try to make it fun.

We also get connected–if through friends or Lynn K calling with local newspapers and try to get interviews.

We also have friends with businesses and they display and sell the book for me…my hairdresser, my pharmacy, etc…

We also go to as many GLBT events as we can make and network through them…here I have been asked to have a reading.

We NEVER FADE AWAY!!!!!!!
